This is a foot-stompin' romp of a movie! When a musical family homesteads in the Dakota Territory in the 1880s, they become embroiled in the presidential battle between Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison (a little history lesson for young viewers!). A romance blossoms between a young Leslie Ann Warren and John Davidson, and the family must "band" together in the name of politics. Walter Brennan, Buddy Ebsen, Richard Deacon, Kurt Russell, and Goldie Hawn round out the cast. Even if your family can't carry a tune in a bucket, they'll love this movie. Even little ones will like the bright colors, musical kids, and high-energy dance scenes. 110 min. 1968.
