Beginning at the Southampton County Courthouse on Main Street, the self-guided tour continues onto the Confederate Monument, Courtland Baptisit Church, Southampton Agriculture & Forestry Museum, Mahone's Tavern, St. Luke's Protestant Episcopal Church, Bell House, Seven Gables home, the Rochelle-Prince House, the Shands House, the Walter Cecil Rawls Library and ends at the Rawls Museum Arts.

This wonderful walking tour can be either self-guided through brochure with detailed map and descriptions or through narration via audio cassette (minimal fee). Alternatively, for groups, meet our guide(s) at the Visitor Center to begin your tour of Historic Smithfield, Virginia. Stroll along Main and Church Streets and observe the over 60 Colonial, Federal and Victorian homes as you learn of Smithfield's history of the ham as well as its significant role in Virginia's and America's History.
