Family Travel Guide: Washington

When you think of Washington D.C., the first association that comes to mind is politics. By contrast, vacation is pretty far down the list. But it shouldn’t be that way: the nation’s capital is filled with some of the greatest sites in the country – and many of them offer free admission (and you thought Congress got all the perks!). A trip to D.C. gives children a wonderful opportunity to see parts of America’s past up close, making the political suddenly very personal.
