This family-friendly resort is known for its fairy tale setting of old weather-beaten barns, rustic farmhouses and pretty pensions. A traditional village, it has kept its character while offering a premium ski area with nine lifts and 24 miles of excellent slopes. Well-suited for families with children three-to-10-years old, there is a wide selection of activities and the prices are reasonable with a high season adult six day lift pass costing 160 Euros (about $196 US) and a children’s pass 90 Euros ($110). The Sunny Mountain Adventure Park offers a children’s ski merry-go-round, magic carpets, practice lifts, tubing and winter bungee. The ski school (for children aged three and up) is located right in front of the Sunny Mountain Restaurant so parents can relax here while keeping the kids within sight. Four miles of natural tobogganing runs are popular for moonlight tobogganing (Tuesday and Thursdays). Up to 5000 guests are accommodated in private pensions (this usually includes breakfast), holiday cottages and a range of "ski in, ski out" accommodation. Because English is taught in school, language is generally not a problem.
