What it is
In what may be one of the coolest Star Wars toys to date, Hasbro creates the Ultimate Lightsaber kit, which allows kids to do just that - build their own lightsaber and take "the Force" into their own hands.

Why it’s fun
The large amount of accessories and components like power crystals, blades and filters enable kids to create and customize their own lightsaber. Kids can choose to build a Jedi lightsaber in purple, green or blue, or they can choose the dark side and create a red, Sith lightsaber.

Who’s going to love it
This is the first time Hasbro has released a customizable version, which is sure to appeal to Star Wars fans of all ages. Keep in mind though that the construction elements of this toy are limited and will appeal mostly to kids rather than older collectors. That said, collectors have already responded very strongly to this, and are buying it in great numbers. This is a toy that is expected to sell out or be in very short supply as Holiday 2005 approaches.

What to be aware of
The finished lightsaber will really light up and also feature sound effects from the movies.

Make sure to check the box for the battery requirements because they are not included.
