This project is rated EASY to do.

• Heinz ketchup bottle (transparent plastic bottle is fine but glass bottle works best)
• Colored sand (can be purchased at any craft store)
• Funnel
• Stick (or kitchen utensil with a long, thin handle)
• Newspaper or tablecloth

1. Remove label, wash, rinse and dry out bottle. Keep the cap.
2. Spread out the newspaper or tablecloth on your work surface.
3. Put the funnel in the bottle.
4. Choose a sand color to start with and empty the desired amount into the funnel.
5. Insert the stick into the bottle to make a few waves/bumps (if you want an uneven effect) or lightly shake the bottle to level the sand.
6. Repeat steps 5 and 6, using a different color of sand each time, until the bottle is full.
7. Press the sand down firmly from the top. Be careful not to move the bottle around or the sand will smudge.
8. Screw on the bottle cap and tidy up.
